Diverse Pieces Coming Together as a Whole

For our September update, we wanted to delve deeper into the collage and layout process. As you know by now, Corwin has spent the year buried in vintage Grimms' books. He'd like to share some of the layouts he's been making and explain how they fit into the project as a whole. We hope you enjoy this behind-the-scenes look. A Special Update from Corwin For a story like "Rumpelstiltskin," there have been many drawings [...]

Mirror Mirrored Artist Happenings

For our August update, we thought we'd share what some of the Mirror Mirrored contemporary artists have been up to (all kinds of fascinating things). Several artists recently wrapped up some fantastic shows. This summer Amy Cutler collaborated with musician Emily Wells and hair stylist Adriana Papaleo for her show Fossa in "a heady detour from—or amplification of— [her] compulsively rendered two-dimensional works." Counting Down the Stories

It has been a while since our last update and we've been busy with lots of Grimms' goodness. Most importantly, and the subject of this update, the book continues to come together. While our main focus is on the [...]

We had a wonderful crowd at the opening and Michelle’s curator talk. She was able to thank some of our backers personally, and [...]

Mirror Mirrored Springs Forward

Our original concept for a book of contemporary art paired with 25 Grimms’ tales has morphed into a four-pound, 350-page tome as you can see from this photo A Design Update Since we last connected with you, the New Hampshire snow has disappeared, and so have those pesky presidential candidates. Spring has arrived! We would like to update you on the publication of the book, as well as other Mirror Mirrorred news. Corwin is [...]

A Holiday Update

Grimms' fairy tale books from Dartmouth's Rauner Special Collections Library (Photo by Michelle Aldredge)   Greetings from New Hampshire, where the autumn leaves are falling and the frost is literally on the pumpkin. As we have been toiling away on page layouts and proofreading inside our Harrisville studios, the season has shifted from bathing suits and lake-swimming to wool scarves and wood stoves. It has been a while since we have updated you [...]
